On day one of his 7-day Atlantis Cruise, Jason Luna noticed this message from a fellow passenger:
“All the Atlantis Cruz boys are going to be at the bathhouse tonight, which means 90% Asians. That’s why they ruined the GBU party in Miami last night; they were all a bunch of Asians and old white men.”
Jason Luna, one of the most well-known male Asian stars in gay porn, was on the same cruise and took exception to the post, calling it out right away. Going to X to write.
“GBUs and bathhouses aren’t there to cater to your personal sexual preferences. The community deserves better than this attitude.
Yes, some older white guys and Asians tend to have more disposable income and travel to your city for fun—let them enjoy it.
Big shout-out to the 90% of Asians who showed up and really supported / kept these gay businesses going.”
Jason adds
“This type of attitude in our community is the very reason why most Asians have low confidence and self esteem. All our life we’ve always try to fit in. I do what I do not for the money but to help with visibility. I don’t get paid enough to go-go dance and I don’t get much tips to be honest. But I go home happy knowing I have contributed to representing the Asian community.”
Jason concludes with a post: “Dear fellow Asians, we matter.” “We belong and are beautiful.”
Postscript: Jason went to the Atlantis Facebook Group to express his concern, and the moderator swiftly deleted his post.
